The Florida Division of Emergency Management disburses grant funding from the Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPA) Trust Fund to enhance local governments' emergency management capabilities.  The FY 2019/20 allocation to Seminole County is $105,806 for the period initiating July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2019.  The funds will be utilized to assist the Emergency Operation Center to enhance and sustain the County's emergency management operation, training, and equipment related to emergency prevention, protection, response, recovery and mitigation efforts.  This is a cost-reimbursement grant that requires a 100% match from the current County Emergency Management budget to be either equal to the average of the previous three years level of county general revenue funding or last year's funding level, whichever is lower.  The County Emergency Management budget fulfills the grant match requirement.  Budget Amendment Request (Bar #19-076 will recognize grant revenues and establish budget in the amount of $105,806.
