CC-2392-19/RTB will provide all labor, equipment and materials to construct the Five Points Connector Road and Regional Stormwater Pond. The project is located in Seminole County within the Sections 14 and 15 of Township 20 South and Range 30 East. More specifically, the project is located on the west side of U.S. Highway 17/92, south of Lake Mary Boulevard, and adjacent to the Seminole State College campus. The proposed Five Points regional stormwater pond will be located within the footprint of an existing 9.9-acre mixed hardwood wetland system.
The project was publicly advertised and the County received four(4) responses. The Review Committee, consisting of Calvin Landers, PE, Assistant County Engineer, Anthony Nelson, PE, Assistant County Engineer, and Stephen Miller, PE, Construction Project Manager, all from the Public Works Engineering Division, reviewed the responses. Consideration was given to bid price, experience, and qualifications.
The Review Committee recommends award to the lowest price, responsive, responsible bidder, Southern Development Construction, Inc., of Chuluota, in the amount $5,560,505.00. The completion time for the project is five hundred forty-eight (548) calendar days to Substantial Completion and an additional thirty (30) calendar days to Final Completion after execution of a Notice to Proceed by the County. This is a budgeted project and funds are available in US 17/92 @ 5PTS Project Construction in Progress (Account #00265503.560650.00001) through the approval of BAR #19-061 being presented simultaneously on the Resource Management Budget Division Agenda.
