Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the third Modification of Agreement between the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and Seminole County for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program. Countywide (Carrie Longsworth, Division Manager)

The State of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity provides Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) funding on an annual basis to the County. The contract specifies that the CSBG funding must be delivered to low-income County residents and provide a range of services and activities having a measurable and potentially major impact on poverty. This year funding will be utilized for direct client assistance, which will specifically fund one-time rental subsidies, bridge housing, three (3) homeless Case Manager salaries, one (1) Project Manager salary, and supportive service subsidies for the clients on the Family Self Sufficiency Program. The DEO is currently under contract with Seminole County for the CSBG program funds through September 30, 2020 in an umbrella agreement and releases funds annually to provide services. The total amount of the contract has been increased to $1,010,452.00 as determined by the State of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. The FY 2019-20 funds have been released and the DEO is modifying the original umbrella agreement to include the increased funding amount.
