| | | | | | | | | Background: | Pursuant to Chapter 154, Florida Statutes, the intent of the Legislature is to promote, protect, maintain and improve the health and safety of all citizens and visitors of the State of Florida through a system of coordinated county health department services. County Health Departments were established throughout Florida, including the County Health Department to satisfy this legislative intent through promotion of the public health, control and eradication of preventable diseases and provision of primary health care for special populations.
Each year, Seminole County contracts with the State of Florida Department of Health to provide funding and health services specified by the State to be delivered to the residents of Seminole County. The appropriation by Seminole County for FY 2021-2022 is an amount not to exceed $807,970 which is the same level of commitment as the County provided under the 2020-2021 agreement. Approval of the Contract at this time is necessary to ensure continued coordination between the State and the County in the operation of the County Health Department and for provision of services in Fiscal Year 2021-2022. |
