| | | | | | | | Background: | SS-604211-21/TLR will provide for the identification of leaks with a search distance from the actual leak(s), defined by a "Dynamic buffer", which calculates specifically according to physical properties of the analyzed area and technical components of the satellite. Asterra's algorithm and process are patented and are 100% owned the subsidiary of Utilis Inc. Currently, Seminole County Environmental Services Department does not have a water leak detection program in place, thus cost benefits analysis presented here are be based on other municipality data. The number of leaks found per day, leak density and survey time are better than the standard acoustic survey. Data shows that satellite guided acoustic survey can save the County money by reducing water loss in the distribution system, and save staff time by pinpointing leaks in place of physically searching for leaks. The estimated annual usage for year one (1) is $99,850.00. |
