In March of 2014, the County entered an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Casselberry and other infrastructure sales tax recipients pertaining to the shared distribution and use of the One Cent Local Government Infrastructure Surtax.
The interlocal agreement being considered today addresses funding for the State Road 436 Improvements Project with limits extending from US 17-92 to the southern Orange/Seminole County line.
The County’s contribution to these improvements is $4,772,000.00. Significant additional federal, state, or a combination of such funding is anticipated to be required, in addition to the funding covered under this Agreement, in order to fully complete the Project. The City will complete the Project in prioritized phases to help ensure the highest priority phases are completed first, to the extent that sufficient funding is available. The four phases of the project are listed in Exhibit A of the attached interlocal agreement.
The City of Casselberry will be responsible for all project management details, including coordination with the County’s Public Works Director. The interlocal agreement spells out details regarding reimbursement, but it also provides for a fund advancement procedure.
