| | | | | | | | | Background: | Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) is authorized by Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief Act. This funding helps communities implement measures to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from natural hazards and their effects. Seminole County Resiliency Working group have identified County projects that are eligible for HMGP funding and have certified four County projects to submit applications for the HMGP-COVID-19 Tier I funding cycle. The four projects are within the Lake Harney basin and are identified as Ft. Lane Road Improvement , Lake Harney Circle Improvement, Old Mims and Jungle Road Improvements, and Osceola Road Improvements. HMGP funding allocation for Seminole County is $3,000,538.18 and the total HMGP Grant Cost for all four project is $2,097,087.50.
There is a 25% match funding required for each project awarded. The estimated match for the four projects is $699,062.50 which will be funded from the Sales tax fund. |
