Title:
Approve the appointment of a new representative to the Committee on Aging in accordance with the guidelines established by Administrative Code Section 4.6. Countywide (Carrie Longsworth, Community Assistance Division Manager)

Background:

On May 6, 2008, the Board of County Commissioners adopted a Resolution amending Section 4.6 of the Seminole County Administrative Code to establish the Committee on Aging (Committee).  Members were appointed to the Committee in accordance with the guidelines established by the Code.  The initial term of the members are for three (3) years.  At the end of the initial term, members will be eligible for re-appointment for one (1) consecutive term.  If a member is appointed to complete a term due to vacancy, that member shall serve one (1) additional three (3) year term.  All terms will run from January to December.

 

The Committee recommends the following new appointment for approval:

Faith Based Organizations–Monsignor John Bluett, Retired.  Father Bluett will fill the Faith Based board vacancy commencing on January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2024 at which time he could be reappointed for an additional three (3) year term.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends to approve the appointment of a new representative to the Committee on Aging in accordance with the guidelines established by Administrative Code Section 4.6.
